Full-time Event Manager

SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for an Event Manager at the North Charleston Coliseum, Convention and Performing Arts Center. The Event Manager acts as a catalyst between the North Charleston Coliseum, Convention and Performing Arts Centers (the Facilities) and the Lessee as well as the City of North Charleston for Events as assigned.  The position is responsible for ensuring that all requests of the Lessee are addressed while ensuring all procedures are conducted in accordance with  SMG policy and procedure.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY INCLUDE:

  • Assist the Director of Operations with all operational phases of Facilities management.
  • Gather accurate event production information in advance of the events and ensure that set-ups are accurate for all events.
  • Advance and communicate all event information to the appropriate departments and staff to maintain proper scheduling and supervision.
  • Conduct pre-event walk-through to assure set-up, cleanliness and safety of the Facilities.
  • Direct, in conjunction with Department Managers, the work of the Operations, Event and Contract Services staff for all events.
  • Assemble information for event settlements and present to Finance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrated knowledge of current management principles and practices includes supervisory skills, budgeting and scheduling of employees; knowledge of event production and operations including coordinating event producers, pre-event planning, organizing physical facility and staffing.  Degree in management or business-related field or three years event operations experience in a similar facility preferred.  Reasonable accommodations will be considered for those with disabilities.

Full-time Senior Associate Ticket Office Manager

SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for Full-time Senior Associate Ticket Office Manager at the North Charleston Coliseum, Convention and Performing Arts Center. The Senior Associate Ticket Office Manager assists the Ticket Office Manager with overseeing all aspects of Ticket Office operations and ensures all procedures are conducted in accordance with SMG policy and procedure.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY INCLUDE:

  • Manager in-charge in absence of Ticket Office Manager
  • Primary coordinator for Event Announcements
  • Primary ticket office contact for suite holders and venue sponsors
  • Responsible for setting up, distributing and coordinating suite tickets and parking passes
  • Responsible for acting as primary liaison for sponsor ticket requests
  • Responsible for tracking all trade ticket transactions
  • Primary manager for ticket office financial reports/ books
  • Responsible for the timely, accurate completion of daily and monthly ticket office Financial reports as required by the Finance Department
  • Responsible for assisting with daily ticket counts and wraps
  • Primary coordinator of scheduling PT supervisors

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university preferred and a minimum of  (2) years in the public assembly industry in a management or supervisory position; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proficient in Ticketmaster Classic and TM One required.  Experience with other ticketing platforms a plus.

Part-time Change-Over Staff

The North Charleston Coliseum Complex has 5 immediate openings for Part-time Change-Over Staff.   Work schedule will be event driven.  Late nights, weekends and holidays a must.  Duties will include assembly work and applicant must be able to lift up to 150 pounds.  Good     mechanical aptitude and ability to consistently follow instructions a must.  Competitive pay and a great work environment.  Applications will be accepted August 24, 2015 through April, 30, 2016 from 9am to 4pm, Monday through Friday at the Coliseum Administrative Office.
