The North Charleston Coliseum Complex is hiring Seasonal PT Ticket Office Staff. Starting wage is $9.15/hour. Duties include ticket sales for concerts, sporting events, family and Broadway shows. Basic computer and cash handling skills required. Applicant must be customer service oriented and competent while working in a fast-paced environment. Shifts available are morning, evening and weekend. Weekend and Holiday hours required. Work schedule will be event driven. Hours are not guaranteed and will vary from week to week. JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION:           Event Coordinator            DEPARTMENT: Operations

FLSA STATUS:      Full-Time, Exempt

REPORTS TO:     Event Manager

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:    Operations and Event & Contract Services staff

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

This position will act as a facilitator between the North Charleston Coliseum, Convention & Performing Arts Centers (the Facilities) and the Event Lessee.  This position will focus primarily on Exhibition Hall and PAC events. The position is responsible for ensuring that all requests of the Lessee are addressed while adhering to the Facilities policies and procedures.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Gather accurate event production information in advance of the events and ensure that set-ups are accurate for all events.

Advance and communicate all event information to the appropriate departments and staff to maintain proper scheduling and supervision.

Conduct pre-event walk-through to assure set-up, cleanliness and safety of the Facilities.

Direct, in conjunction with Department Managers, the work of the Operations, Event and Contract Services staff for all events.

Maintain accurate billing information in accordance with Lessee’s contract.

Assist in reviewing and modify policies and procedures for the Event services operations.

Maintain ongoing communication and relationships with guests, event producers, staff and tenants to continually promote a professional and positive image of the Facilities.

Provide proper feedback to staff after events.

Assist staff as needed in all areas of Operations, performing other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrated knowledge of current management principles and practices including supervisory skills, budgeting and scheduling of employees; knowledge of event production and operations including coordinating event producers, pre-event planning, organizing physical facility and staffing.  Degree in management or business-related field or three years event operations experience in a similar facility preferred.  Competencies in computer skills including MS platforms (Outlook, Excel, Word, PPT).  Experience with ADP, Eventbooking.com and AutoCAD preferred. SUPERVISION EXERCISED:    Changeover staff

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

This position supervises and performs a multitude of physical tasks in setting-up and breaking down of the North Charleston Coliseum, Convention and Performing Arts Centers (the Facilities), as needed. This position also preforms some administrative tasks including scheduling, training, and annual performance reviews. 

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Supervise and work with Changeover staff to set-up and break down events (i.e., stage, risers, basketball floor, hockey system, chairs and tables, lobby area, dressing rooms, Club rooms, etc.).

Survey equipment before and after events for damage or disrepair and report, as necessary.

Assist with maintenance of equipment.

Develop and implement policies and procedures for Changeover crews.

Provide labor recaps for scheduled work.

Distribute changeover supplies, uniforms and equipment.

Hiring, scheduling, and training of part-time staff.

Fully understand Facilities layout to maximize usage (i.e., storage, cleaning methods, etc.).

Represent the Changeover Manager in his absence.

Assist staff as needed in all areas of Operations, performing other tasks as assigned.

Assist in preparation of, and operation in, annual budget 

Assist with purchasing. Complete, log and track purchase orders. 

Order, maintain inventory, of changeover supplies, tools and equipment. 

Coordinate daily schedules with event staff concerning future event.

Prepare annual performance reviews of part time staff   

Document disciplinary procedures when necessary, verbal, written, and final.  Track violations in attendance policy.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrated knowledge of basic tools and methods to erect and dismantle various items including chairs, risers and stages; ability to perform various physical tasks; knowledge of purchasing practices; knowledge of supervisory principles with an emphasis in working with and training part-time staff.  Previous changeover experience in a similar facility preferred.  Reasonable accommodations will be considered for those with disabilities.

Usher - Guest Services

USHERS/Guest Services

This position works all Front of House areas of the North Charleston Coliseum, Convention and Performing Arts Centers (the Facilities). This position also handles all guest services, including services for persons with disabilities.

Take tickets at the entrance of the Facilities.
Seat guests according to ticket numbers and assist guests with all questions or concerns.
Monitor door entrances and exits, keeping unauthorized persons out of restricted areas.
Handle all needs for guests with disabilities including ticketing, entrance/ exiting, seating and overall ADA compliance.
Patrol and maintain Front of House area of the Facilities, ensuring that all areas are clean, safe and secure.
Report incidents and related activities.
Ensures that each Guest attempting to enter the facility has a correct ticket for that event.
Maintains a smooth flow of traffic into facility.
Reads each ticket for correct event, date and time. If incorrect information is noted, directs guest Box Office for assistance or seeks assistance from Supervisor. 
Tears or scans tickets quickly and efficiently and in the proper manner, depositing part of the ticket into the drop box and returning the other part to the guest.
Handles minor problems and guest complaints in a calm, professional, courteous and timely manner.
Provides special direction to guests in regard to handicapped seating, procedures for lost and found articles, restroom locations and specific event information as instructed in regard to assigned events.
Monitors assigned areas for accidents and unsafe conditions and reports violations to the appropriate personnel immediately.
Continually check assigned areas before, during and directly after events for damage and lost articles. Take lost articles to Guest Services and report any damages or other safety concerns to Event Supervisor.
 

Proactively greet guests as they approach seating area, check tickets for access to the seating area, and direct guests to their assigned seats.
Monitor assigned section throughout the event for unruly guests, accidents and unsafe conditions. Adhere to building safety standards (i.e.: smoking, cameras, food/beverage policies and specific event requirements), Report violations to the appropriate personnel immediately.
Offer assistance to guests throughout the event, including directions to arena facilities, answering guest questions, and providing other assistance as required.
Attend event staff meetings, pre-event meetings and training classes to keep up to date on building policies and procedures as required.
Perform other tasks as assigned
 

Ability to walk freely up and down steps.

Ability to work outside the facility (or immediately inside) in extreme hot or cold temperatures or in inclement weather.
Ability to work in confined areas, in particular operating passenger and freight elevators.

Ability to adhere to building policies and event requirements.
