The expanded 3-day weekend of jazz music features a slate of top contemporary instrumentalists of all types. Additional artists are still being confirmed. Jazz enthusiasts will be able to enjoy Charleston’s noteworthy neighborhoods, boutique hotels, incredible restaurants, designer shopping, antique stores and vintage shops, not to mention beaches and beautiful weather, before attending the jazz concerts at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center.

Al Jarreau’s unique vocal style is one of the world’s most precious treasures. His innovative musical expressions have made him one of the most exciting and critically-acclaimed performers of our time, earning him seven Grammy® Awards, scores of international music awards and popular accolades worldwide.

Throughout his career, he has topped the charts regularly and in 1987, became a weekly guest in America's living rooms singing the Grammy-nominated theme song for the hit television series Moonlighting.

He has collaborated with a host of famous artists, including Marcus Miller, David Sanborn, Joe Sample, Herbie Hancock, Sir Paul McCartney, Jill Scott, Chris Botti, Patti Austin and George Benson. In March 2001, Jarreau received a Star on the "Hollywood Walk of Fame" commemorating his status as one of the best singers of his generation.
